Unfortunately, there’s no instruction manual when [a] family is trying to wade through the system...

How It Works

Discuss your case with a FPS professional

1. Submit a request using the Contact Form below.

2. An FPS team member will contact you within 2-4 business days to discuss your case and determine necessary documentation to present to our board-certified Forensic Pathologists for review.

3. FPS may provide you a secure login (username/password) to upload documents for preliminary review.*

We’ll review the case with one of our 90+ Board-Certified Forensic Pathologists (FPs), ensuring they have no prior affiliation with the office, hospital, county, or institution involved, to maintain full independence and avoid bias. Please be assured of our commitment to complete independence and impartiality.

Once an FP accepts your case, we’ll provide an estimated review time for all documents/media, draft a report, and can offer phone/video consultations upon request. We’ll also give you a completion date, subject to receipt of all necessary documents requested by FPS.

*FPS may require an initial retainer to commence services. Any unused portion of the retainer will be refunded within five business days upon completion of services. If the initial retainer is insufficient to cover the full scope of FPS’s review, FPS reserves the right to withhold the completed report until all outstanding payments are received in full.

You don’t need the following information for your initial call, but if you submit a request, these preparation tips will help FPS give you the most accurate guidance going forward:

Additionally, please estimate the volume of medical records, number of case photos, and/or minutes of media content that may require review to assist you efficiently.
