Comprehensive Autopsy Case Management and Support
With the national average indicating that only 50% of the required staff are available to perform autopsies, many counties across the U.S. face high stress due to overworked staff and delays in report completion beyond the 60-90 day accreditation standards. This situation often results in staff burnout, delayed survivor benefits for families, disgruntled prosecutors, and strained relationships with in-state agencies, such as funeral homes.
Staff Breaks
We provide necessary breaks to your staff, allowing Forensic Pathologists (FPs) time off from performing new autopsies so they can focus on reviewing medical records, speaking with families, and completing cases at their desks.
Full Scope Forensic Services
We offer the full range of forensic services, including full-time Forensic Pathologists, technicians, and investigative support. This ensures your county works with experienced professionals and minimizes delays due to unforeseen circumstances such as sickness or other emergencies.
Morgue Staff Scheduling
We manage the scheduling of morgue staff to optimize workflow and reduce administrative strain.
Preparation for Busy Periods
Our team helps prepare for busier times of the year, ensuring seamless operations without overburdening your administrative team.
Backup Support
We provide continuous backup support, ensuring there are no interruptions in service.
Independent FP Review
Our team offers independent Forensic Pathologist reviews of cases, ensuring that multiple professionals have discussed and agreed on the cause and manner of death.
With our extensive network of experienced contractors, many offices have found FPS to be a valuable resource for improving their operations. We offer a range of services, including:
Reviewing or creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Assisting with the planning and construction of new facilities, as well as the outfitting of existing ones.
Providing expert advice to support your organization’s goals for achieving accreditation with various agencies
In addition to autopsy support, FPS can manage your office’s relationships with vendors for tools, equipment, and laboratories, such as toxicology and histology labs. We handle price negotiations, contract renewals, and logistics, allowing you to focus solely on sending and receiving services.
You will no longer need to submit proposals to external agencies. We can work with your preferred vendor under our contract, or provide you with one of our trusted vendors. Given the extensive network of offices we partner with, this often results in reduced pricing and significant cost savings for the county, as we leverage large-scale relationships.
Partnering with FPS streamlines your billing process by consolidating all services into a single monthly invoice. This includes post-mortem exams, technician and investigator assistance and training, as well as toxicology and histology services when FPS contracts with your preferred lab directly.
What does this mean for you? You’ll only need to review and issue payments 12 times a year, freeing up your administrative staff for other essential duties. We additionally provide a detailed, chronological invoicing breakdown, making it easy to verify all details before submitting payment.
